Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards 2013 Finalists

So after a long wait after the voting period has closed…we have news that everyone is waiting for! Of course, if you were at the Filipino ReaderCon kick-off event, you know the finalists by now, but in case you weren’t there, then here’s the list.

But wait, before that. We would like to thank everyone who voted and campaigned for their favorite books during the voting period. We received a whopping 8,146 votes for the entire voting period, more than 3x the amount of votes from last year’s! Amazing. :)

Okay, are we ready?

WAIT, one more thing. If you were at the Filipino ReaderCon kick-off, I’m sure you would’ve seen the new Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards logo too. :) In case you missed that, too:

Filipino ReaderCon 2013 Kick-Off Event at the MIBF

Last weekend was a fun bookish weekend, and we know you know what we mean if you were at the first ever Aklatan. We were there, too, and went home with several new books! Yay!

If you missed the bookish fun this weekend, don’t worry! It’s the 34th Manila International Book Fair week this week, and there’s more books for us to get our hands on this weekend at the SMX Convention Center!

But wait, there’s more! It’s the 9th today, and that means it’s exactly two months before the 3rd Filipino ReaderCon.  While we go crazy about that fact here at the (virtual) Filipino ReaderCon command center, we would like to invite you to experience the ReaderCon fun as early as now! Because for this year’s ReaderCon, we have a Kick-Off event! Details:

FILIPINO READERCON KICK-OFF EVENT
September 14, 2013, 5:30-6:30PM

Meeting Room 6, SMX Convention Center
34th Manila International Book Fair

We will be announcing the program line-up for this year’s ReaderCon at the event, as well as other online activities that book bloggers and readers can participate in. We will also be unveiling the short listed titles for this year’s Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards, based on the voting that happened in the past two weeks. These shortlisted titles (3 per category) will be the contenders for the next stage (panel judging) and the winners will be announced on the 3rd Filipino ReaderCon on November 9 at the Rizal Library at the Ateneo de Manila University.

You’re all invited to attend the Filipino ReaderCon Kick-off! If If you’ve never been to any of the previous Filipino ReaderCons, then this is your chance to have a feel of the event. (Spoiler: It’ll be fun :D) Attendees may also join The Great Book Swap during the event, a face-to-face book swapping activity. :) (Yay free books!)

We’ll see you there, yes? :)
