Nominations for 2013 Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards

It’s exactly 3 months till the 2013 Filipino ReaderCon! Three months is still a long time, but who says we can’t have things happening now?

So let’s get started!

Filipino Readers' Choice Awards

Nominations for the 2013 Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards are now open!

The Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards returns for its second straight year, engaging the Filipino reading public in honoring their favorite Philippine-published titles.

An initiative of the Filipino Book Bloggers Group, the Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards debuted at the 2nd Filipino Reader Conference in 2012, and was established to develop awareness and appreciation of Philippine literature, recognize the reader’s role in creating the meaning and experience of a literary work, and give the readers a voice in the Philippine book industry.

Nomination period is from August 9 to 23, 2013, so that’s plenty of time to nominate your favorite Philippine published books, and tell your friends to nominate their favorite Philippine published books, too!

To nominate a book, just hop over to the nomination form! You can nominate as many books as you want, but don’t forget: only books published in the Philippines from January to December 2012 will be accepted. Nominations that do not fulfill these criteria will be disqualified (sorry!). Here are the categories:

  • Children’s picture book
  • Chick lit
  • Novel in English
  • Novel in Filipino
  • Comics / Graphic novels
  • Short story anthology
  • Essay anthology
  • Poetry

You can check timeline of the 2013 Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards on this page. And in case you missed it — here’s the nomination form again! We’ll be posting more updates here, so keep checking back! Missed the 2012 awards? You can find the 2012 winners here.

Don’t forget to tell your friends, okay? This is OUR awards, OUR choice. Mabuhay ang mambabasang Pinoy!

Hi! Just wanted to know if we can nominate books that were published in print first but were published as eBooks in 2012. Thanks!
